1) Effective Navigation and Menu Items
It is very important for the navigation of a website to be clean and free of clutter. Keeping the number of menu items as low as possible is the best way to start. The use of drop-down menus is better on large site with many sections and pages. A good navigation is one really aspects of website usability and may determine whether people stay on your site or not!
Imagine walking into a store with cluttered aisles and no clear signs. Frustrating, right? The same principle applies to websites. A well-designed and intuitive navigation system is the key to unlocking a new level of customer satisfaction because an effective navigation leads to increased conversions and reduced bounce rates.
2) Working Contact Forms
This is one very key part of your website because you want people to be able to reach you easily. Sometimes it is good to have a form or a link to a contact form on every major page of a website. However, if you have forms that aren't working **pauses** then that's a no no as people may not be patient enough after experiencing a few errors and this can cause loss of potential clients. We all have very short attention spans, so no need for forms that aren't working or difficult to find!
An easy-to-find and use Contact Us or Get Started Now link on your website is a must. Testing those links periodically is also important
3) Security is crucial to your website
A secure website is important. You don't want to spend years working on your website to loose it in 10 minutes.
This is even more crucial to eCommerce websites! Always use strong passwords for all accounts associated with your website. Use of platforms like WordPress or Magento, help you with things like CAPTCHA to improve security. Please be sure to use it and keep the platforms updated always. In addition to adding new functionality, these periodic updates often address security issues found by other users and developers.
Alongside using strong passwords, using two-factor authorization will also help ensure your website is safer because it makes it way more difficult for random attackers to get in.
